Oven Roast Prime Rib
So yesterday, we decided that we wanted to have some roasted Prime Rib for dinner today so we got a 12 or so pounds of Prime Rib which apparently was the smallest one there and it cost about 100 USD at Sam's Club. This is how my 4th aunt cook the Prime Rib and it pretty darn yummy! Here's the Prime Rib we started off with. First, you simply just pat it dry with some paper towel. Next, you're going to need to cut some slits on the meat and stuff the garlic inside. Just stick a few all around the Prime Rib. This was the garlic we used. You can of course peel your own, we're just too lazy for that. Next, we start marinating. I don't have exact measurements for this. Just go with your gut feeling. So for the marinate, we have some seasoned salt, some sea salt, (I'm sure any brand will do. We just so happen have some really fancy kind.) some Worcestershire Sauce (damn, this is hard to pronounce), ground black pepper, and lastly, honey. Massage all the seasonings in real good. Then you have to flip over and do the same. Line baking tray with aluminium foil and put the metal rack on top. And put the Prime Rib on the rack. Pour the excess seasoning back to the meat. Have your oven preheated to 450°F. Stick your meat thermometer deep into the Prime Rib. Then in to the oven this bad boy goes. Monitor your steak and for us, we lowered the temperature to 325°F after 15 minutes and let it cook till it's 120°F. Nearer the edge, we have some medium meat. You can just remove the garlic cloves when you eat your steak. For me, I got the one nearer to the center which is kind of like medium-rare. Look at how big of a serving Uncle Brett gave me. I didn't manage to finish it, in case you're wondering how much of a glutton I am. The steak was really good and worth all the trouble. This much steak can easily serve 10 but there's only 4 of us to enjoy it tonight. The dogs enjoyed a fair share too! Nothing beats home cooked! Labels: Beef, Cooking, Recipe, Western Tweet |
