Pro Soy Crab (프로간장게장)
27-1 Jamwon-dong Seocho-gu Seoul, South Korea Today we went to the crab place that my manager has been raving about. What I've heard is that we had to eat raw uncooked crabs. I didn't know what to expect but I trust it'll be good considering I'm eating with people that works in the F&B industry, they have to know where all the good food are right?! Here comes the famous Soy Marinated Crab (간장게장). It's sweet, ridiculously fresh. It's a little salty to eat on it's own but absolutely perfect when paired with rice. And what's more, it's the season now which explains why all the crabs are packed with that beautiful orange crab roe. Deeeeyummm! This is not cheap though, a plate like this cost 80,000₩ which is equivalent to USD 80 or SGD 100 and we had 6 plates of this (thanks boss!). The body is easy to eat. You just suck the juicy flesh off and enjoy your rice at the same time. But the treasure is at the head of the crab. And this is how you eat it. First you grab one of the shell, and stir the contains up. Like scrap it off the shell. Then you put the rice inside and stir. Ohmygod this is orgasm in your mouth. Then we have this Steamed Egg (계란찜). It was boiling when it reached us. Soft and fluffy yum! Blue Crab Stew (꽃게탕). Nice soup but don't really fancy the texture of the crab in the soup. I was so stuffed after the meal cause they keep getting me to eat when I already stuffed my face with a bowl and a half of rice. This place is kind of costly but worth the try. Very local food that is often unheard of by tourist but very yummy! Must try if you are in Seoul! Labels: Crab, Dinner, Korea, Korean, Seafood, Seoul Tweet |
