삼삼이네 생고깃집
삼삼이네 생고깃집
515-6 Sinsa-dong
Gangnam-gu
Seoul, South Korea

Today's post is about just another day of over stuffing myself this time round with my Korean friends. Nobody knows where better to eat than the locals right? So we took a 15 minutes or so from Hakdong (where I stay) to Sinsa-dong. A small place that you could have easily miss in this place in a restaurant packed Sinsa-dong.

The place is packed by locals with numerous scribble on the wall. Not a very big place but it's pretty cozy.

On the table in front of us lies an overused steel tray for barbecue and small container below for oil catching.

The large amount of sides as usual.

Soju. So apparently the legal age of drinking is 20 in Korean but Korea age is one year above regular age so technically I'm 21 this year so even though I haven't passed my birthday this year, I'm already legal to drink. (Confusing, I know) But this Ajumma came and checked my ID because she thought I'm some high schooler (I'm flattered).

3 person portion of meat. Yumz.

First you need to lather the whole steel plate with lard.

In goes the bad boys.

On the other side Kimchi, Spring Onion and Bean Sprout.

You can cut the veggies into smaller bite sized pieces.

Spin the meat when it's ready. JUST LOOK AT IT!

Cut them up into smaller pieces too and damnz they're ready to reside in my tummy.

So apparently you can put them on the veggie when they are done so they stop overcooking.

Yumz look at that!

So the best way to eat: ALL TOGETHER. PORK + KIMCHI + SPRING ONION + BEAN SPROUT.

After you are done with your meat (at this phase, you should be relatively full). You can proceed to dice up your meat and be ready for the second part of your meal...

KIMCHI FRIED RICE.

So we had to wait for the rice to cook (and burn a little below) so while waiting we decided to add to the vandalism on the wall.

Back to the food. OOH THAT KIMCHI FRIED RICE.

OOH THAT BURNT SIDE. This is the best part!

SCRAPE THAT PAN. (Reason why non-stick pan is not used for this)

I think this is a relatively good place to eat considering it's yummy at cheap (one person portion amounts to around $6 only.) Definitely worth the price and worth the try! But the downside is you probably have to speak Korean to order here. So practice your Korean before you head over!
