Blood Donation
Woooo! Hi earthlings! After much talk about it I finally went ahead and did my second blood donation! This time round in an actual bloodbank (my first was in school) and with Velle! So Velle waited for me to end school and we headed over to Bloodbank@Woodlands which is located inside Woodlands Civic Centre, the building right behind Causeway Point. It's actually on the 5th Storey and somehow the escalator ends at the 4th Storey so you're better off taking the lift from the 1st Storey. Haha. And here we are!
First we have to fill up our usual forms that you have to fill every single time you donate blood. More on the health declaration and all.
Yay. And they gave me a new blood donor card which looks so cute. People with Positive blood type gets the yellow card while the people with Negative blood type gets the blue ones. Velle didn't get one cause she's a first time donor. Guess she'll get the paper version one first mailed to her after awhile.
Did the usual blood pressure and temperature checks in the "Medical Screening Room" and a blood test to check my haemoglobin level to ensure I am healthy enough to make a donation! The hole they poked on my finger to check my blood. It's not pain la at all, like someone pluck a strand of hair off you or something.
Right into the donation room where the nurse then check for my vein. They then first injected some pain killers in me and then after awhile poked the actually blood sucking needle in me. I'm kind of pain tolerant so it doesn't really hurt at all. But even Velle say it's not pain okay!
My blood! The place looks kind of like a hospital, very quiet also cause I think it's quite an awkward timing also. I was actually quite worried that there would be a lot of people cause I didn't manage to make an appointment because of my stupid SingPass but I guess it was fine! Me cam-whoring while the blood sucker needle continues to suck my blood off me. HAHAHA. Happy Velle on her first blood donation. She was really nervous and excited! Haha. Me after my blood donation resting on my seat and waiting for Velle to be done. The waiting and resting area! Free refreshments for donors! Love the biscuits there, Velle and I were noming none stop cause we were hungry! We didn't notice it was 8pm already and we haven't had dinner! Haha. A simple diagram to show where your blood goes after donation.
Feeling good after blood donation!
Me and Velle feeling very accomplished! We promised to go for our next donation together again! Hehe. Our bandages! As much as I am happy that they gave ma a pink bandage but why Velle's bandage cuter one?! Got smiley face one ley. Mine like so boring. ):
Mission accomplished!
Check out more on Blood Donation process and where you can donate from Health Sciences Authority's website. Do give it a try! Save lives! :D Do visit www.hsa.gov.sg/donorcare or call 62200183 to book your appointment or visit www.donorweb.org for a list of bloodmobiles near you. (: Bloodbank@Woodlands Woodlands Civic Centre (Opposite Causeway Point) 900 South Woodlands Drive #05-07 Singapore 730900 Luckily we chose donate blood first before eating cause by the time we finish donating the Bloodbank was ready to close! However we were famished so we headed over to Causeway Point's Food Republic for some dinner. :) I decided to gave Lam's Abalone Noodle a try because of the long queue and they have photos of the owner and artists like Jay Chou at their stall! Here is it. Actually it is like quite disappointing, the serving was quite small, noodle was meh. Really like the egg and fish ball though. But other than that, nothing much that interest me. This bowl of noodle cost $6.50 and it has 3 cubes of abalone, which taste quite meh also la.
Ya, and then that's basically it lo. After dinner then head home already cause there's school tomorrow. I'll see if I'll be able to blog again tomorrow. Haha. Bye earthlings!

Singapore Seafood Republic
Hello earthlings,Today is a pretty much stay home saturday for me, which explains a multiple post in one day. Way too much time on my hands. Also, apparently today I'm supposed to complete my tutorials and practicals that I am lagging behind from my classmates. But as usual, I gave up. Hahaha. You can clearly see when I just camwhore my day away. xD So around early evening my aunt gave me a call saying she will pick me up in 15 minutes to go have dinner at Resort World Sentosa and I panicked because I haven't even bathe! We headed to Singapore Seafood Republic which is located in Resort World Sentosa, nearer to the broadwalk entrance area. See the nice view over there! Watch the sun set! Muahahaha. In case you haven't heard of Singapore Seafood Republic, it's actually a combination of four of Singapore's more famous seafood restaurants namely Jumbo Seafood Restaurant, The Seafood International Market & Restaurant, Palm Beach Seafood and Tung Lok Seafood. It's opened in October 2010 and I remember eating here during Chinese New Year period once when it recently open so I guess the last time I visited here is February 2011? That's like 2 and a half years ago! The outdoor seating area. No fans no shelter nothing. At least it's not sunny. I keep thinking to myself what would they do if it simply started raining. So apparently the restaurant is quite big cause that have two levels and a outdoor dinning area. Since my granny is on wheelchair and can't go upstairs and the bottom level is full, poor us resorted to the outdoor dining area. ): My grandma's faveee Fried Baby Squid. Sweet and crunchy. Pretty good and addictive. The Herbal Prawn. I wanted to take a photo of the whole pot of soup but the waiter took the initiative to serve it in bowls for us already, so too bad for me! A little too herbalish for me, like it's kind of too bitter. Prawn was fresh and all but I do prefer Ah Yat Seafood's version of this dish! Coconut water for me cause it's really warm to sit outside! Seafood Fried Rice. Again, the waiter serve it in bowls already so here is a less than appetizing photo of the fried rice. To me, honestly this fried rice is so-so only. Considering it's a seafood fried rice, I actually find it really disappointing to only have one prawn in the whole bowl of rice, no squid no nothing. Maybe it's just my bowl of rice but my aunt's bowl seem to have no prawn at all, which is even worse. Here comes the crab! This is their famous Chilli Crab. Probably cause Chilli Crab is invented in Singapore? Actually I'm not really sure so don't quote me! As you can see the sun is going down and my lighting is very bad but oh well! The crab was big, juicy and the meat is firm. I think I heard the waiter say the crab is like 1.4 kg? I do prefer the Black Pepper Crab! Maybe it's just me being bias but I actually like this over their renown Chilli Crab. Can fight with House of Seafood which was has really good Black Pepper Crab that I loveee loveee loveee! The amount of crab that I ate. I can tell you I am one of the most unglam person when it comes to eating crab. I would eat like I haven't eat in a thousand years. So I cannot really eat crabs with my prospective boyfriend/spouse. I'm sure I'll scare them away! HAHAHA. Here's me acting like a retard while waiting for my food in the restaurant. HAHAH don't judge me! On to Malaysia Food Street because Granny was asking for Kopi! Malaysia Food Street is apparently made to look like the streets of Malaysia with all their famous food. There's a similar concept but smaller version of this place called Malaysia Boleh! in Jurong Point as most of you know. I was asking my aunt why they make this a Malaysia food street instead of a Singapore food street considering the tourist would want to try local delicacy instead right? But! Resort World is Malaysia owned so too bad! I would start a business of local Singapore food with similar concept but I have no capital. HAHAHAHA.
This is not the first time I'm here, I've been here a number of times. But I took so many photos purely for blogging purposes. Haha. The food here are pretty good but pretty pricey for a true blue Singaporean who knows how much a Char Kway Teow cost in the hawker center. But we got to give and take right? Considering we are sitting in Resort World Sentosa. It's very crowded here and very hard to find seats, many resorting to sharing seats with others. Not sure if it's like this during weekdays.
Here's the pack of $15 Claypot Rice. Still hot when I reach home! I apparently take photo of the Universal Studio's globe EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I am there. But oh well! It's Universal! HAHA. Cause the Claypot rice take away needed 30 minutes to prepare, we went for a walk around the place and saw this! WHAT A DEAL! il Gelato di Bruno Gelateria Italiana & Coffee Shop The shop is actually located inside Candylicious which prohibits photography so I'm actually risking my life for this blog! All the flavours! They offer a variety of flavours with some being Dairy Free and even Sugar Free. Here's a half of the $6.50 ice cream deal! $6.50 for two ice cream cones which is 4 flavours sounds like a pretty good deal right? I got Mocha and Tiramisù flavours. I prefer the Mocha one because I cannot really taste the Tiramisù. No sure if it's because the Mocha was too overwhelming. All up for Dessert 2.0! The auntie hand to spoil my photo by holding her hand against them display refrigerator. ]:< I stood there until she takes her hand off because I am just this stubborn!
Candy trees that I take photo of every single time I am here. Why not make money trees? MUAHAHAHA.
The casino, not old enough to enter. Even if I am old enough, paying $100 to enter is just not worth it. So that's pretty much it, it's a though short but tiring day and I almost fell asleep during my car ride home. Well, at least I'm energetic enough to complete the blog post today! That's all for today, bye earthlings! Tweet |
