Genki Sushi
Hello hello!

Today's post is on Genki Sushi which I visited with Siying on the same day of our macaron adventures. Siying wanted to try it and I heard of it from many of my friends about how cool it was so we decided to give it a gogo!

They have two outlets in Singapore but since we're at Orchard that day, we visited the Orchard Central outlet and they are located at the third storey.

The queue was long. Heard that it's always long but lucky for the two of us, we got a seat quickly because of the small group we have.

We got the "Counter Seat" where we faced the front instead of each other and we only have one row of train while the others have two. Which didn't affect me that much.

Their menu is quite limited as compared our restaurants but their innovative way of serving food is enough to got everyone hooked.

Their relatively small looking kitchen.

So you have an iPad Mini for every other where you place your order from which is relatively new but have been seen done in places like Timbre and M.A.D. But it's still fun!

Oh and you can only place 4 orders at any point of time but you can easily order again so no biggie.

I'm table 11!

They have the Green Tea powder that Siying say you make your own green tea? I'm not so sure about this.

The chilli powder that I did not try cause I don't take chilli!

Choo-choo comes the train with my Chawanmushi.

I got the Kani Chawanmushi cause I love kani. It's pretty good but this is a little too salty for me.

Choo-choo comes the second train full of sushi!

Siying's Sashimi (in case you haven't realized, I don't eat raw food).

The three flavored prawn. One's plain, one mayonise with black pepper, and the other I have no what is it but it taste real good too.

The roasted Salmon, slightly roasted outside but quite raw in the middle. This I can accept. Pretty okay, but not the best out there.

My Unagi, I feel that it's a little over cook and dry. No sauce at all so uhmmm... Nope.

Siying's regular Chawanmushi. If you have tasted mine, you would feel this to be completely bland, but I believe it's my Chawanmushi being overly salty. Pretty good, I guess. At least Siying loves it.

It's just so interesting and fun to see the train whizz by. If they just so happen to whizz by your neighbor's food and it's looks good and you would be tempted to order it. That's how they tempt you. HAHAHA.

Spicy salmon. Siying says this is VERY.SPICY.

MY KANIIIIII wooooo I love KANIIIIII. Yep I got the triple one too. I do prefer the pinky sauce looking one but Siying prefer the black pepper one.

Smoked duck salmon. A little dry on this one too. But I'm not saying it's bad, it's actually pretty decent.

And Siying accidentally dropped her ebi~~

The sweet ebi. I'm not sure if it's cook but it feels quite raw. But then again if it isn't cook then it wouldn't be red right? It's sweet but I don't like raw tasting food. I think people who like Sashimi would like this?

Our Scallop Sushi with the sweet sauce. It's quite nice and I love it!

Full and K.O.ed. Honestly think we ate a lot for two teenage girls. HAHA.

Oh no I didn't! Ordered another salmon sushi with the pink pink thing again. And yes, I just found out that the pink pink this is actually a Pollock Roe (some kind of fish egg). It's slightly roasted on top and rare on the inside, just the way I like it. LOVEEE.

Oh and on the side note. I don't really like their sushi rice. Just cause it's not sticky enough and it'll drop all over when you pick it up and it's not as sweet as the rice at other Japanese restaurants. I feel that the way you order and get served is innovative and that you don't really need to talk to any waiters at all. (Save money on manpower on their part) The price however is pretty decent, with the each of us paying around $27 if I am not wrong, from all the food we eat.

Will I eat them again? Maybe. Not the best sushi out there but it's fun to watch and all. But honestly I have a short attention span and I get bored of this kind of things easily. But it's always fun to give it a go!

Yep and that's basically it. Supposed to have some class dinner today but apparently it's blew off, that's why I have time to complete this post. Hopefully I could find time to blog again soon cause I would be busy for the next two days because of the YES Challenge. We'll see how!
