Tiong Bee Bah Kut Teh & Ssikkek Korean Grill BBQ
Hello!
It's almost one week since my last post and I'm getting pretty lazy at this. HAHA. But I shall stop procrastinating!
I'm going to start my post today's post with a place where my family used to frequent on Sundays since I was really really young. But we kind of stopped because it's really not that healthy to eat so much of it and mainly because it's really hard for the whole family to find time for each other anymore.
It's Tiong Bee Bah Kuk Teh. We actually frequent that for their braised pig trotters.
It's located in a small coffee shop. In a small corner of Blastier. There are only limited seats in the coffee shop, no air con, nothing. It's been like this for years. But still, there are plenty of families there! Their braised pig trotters. Bah Kut Teh. Really love their ribs. They are soft and fall out of their bones really easily. Like you don't have to chew the death out of the bone to get the meat out. However, how peppery the soup tastes actually depends on what time you are there. If you are early, they take the top part of the soup and it would be less peppery than if you are there late. Braised Intestine. Kay I know this looks weird but it's actually pretty good. But this time round I feel like it's a bit too salty so I didn't really have much of it. Everything we ordered. Love the braised pork leg. We specifically ordered the muscle part of the leg cause we don't like it too fatty. The meat is soft and chewy. Really yum! Add the sauce to your rice and I'm sure you can finish at least 2 bowls of it! The yummy pork ribs.
I really like eating at that place because I've been here since young and I'm sure I'll feel super sad if they closed down. I know that another super famous Bah Kut Teh is around the area and I haven't tried that yet. Maybe next time, but until then, this is the best Bah Kut Teh for me thus far! Do give them a try! Oh and the auntie at the shop can be a little grumpy. BEWARE. Muahahahaha!

So I tried their Green Tea egg tart. The only green tea taste is their shell, which is crispy and the egg is soft. It's pretty good and I love that they have so much egg and thin shell unlike the traditional thick shell kind.

Oh hi! Look at the gigantic bear in Giant! and here is my face. HAHAHA I'm sorry.
So few weeks back, Cong Han drove us out for dinner! I was craving for some Korean Barbecue so off we go! We headed to Tanjong Pajar to 2D1N Soju Bang. Note: It's already 9:30 by then.
So for that 2D1N there's two part. À la carte or buffet. So the buffet part is actually Ssikkek Korean Grill which is owned by the same company. Our table! It's all teenagers there and it's filled with K pop posters. I've been to three different outlets of this korean barbecue namely Novena, Tampines and this. I actually prefer the Tampines' outlet which is cleaner and fully air conditioned. The many variations of meat. Mostly pork and beef. All marinated. Which so many kinds, you'll surely if one that you like. Grill the meat in the pan, you then can use the scissors to cut the large pieces of meat up. The grease will then drip out from the side of the pan. Grilling the pork. Cutting up the meat and putting them in the raw lettuce and eat it like that, it's really good! Oh and we love Golden Mushroom! Grill it with the meat juices!! See those dumb boys! Oh and I found a living snail on my lettuce, after which I was kind of paranoid and I keep checking on every piece of lettuce. And Percival helped me roll the golden mushroom in the bacon! Super nice! The very full boy! The retarded boy! Last man standing. How to make kimchi fried rice. Yep, so they are opened at 11:00pm. Food would be served until 10:30pm so you can grab a late dinner like us! Yep, we drove there so I'm not really sure about the MRT stations or bus stops around the area but I'm pretty sure you guys being so IT savy can searched it yourself. HAHA. So dark, but that's me and Percival in the back seat!
So yep! Ssikkek has always been a place to satisfy my occasional craving of Korean barbecue and it has done a pretty good job. So if you just happen to crave Korean Barbecue, you can totally give them a try!
